Ohana College is a growing Co-Ed Independent Secondary Special Assistance School for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. Ohana College is located at Meadowbrook, Qld.

We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about adolescent health and well being and, preferably experienced in peadiatric care. Candidates should have experience in chronic illness management, sports injury management, wound care, and other contemporary adolescent health care issues including mental health.
We are looking for a part time Nurse, 3 hours per day, 5 days per week to assist our existing nursing staff.
The school is well resourced with strong and able management and open communication lines. Parking and a full EAP service are provided along with plenty of professional development opportunities. Your views, opinions and suggestions as an employee are welcomed and encouraged.
Key skills – Nurse:
- Ideally we would prefer an Australian Registered or Enrolled Nurse with additional qualifications/experience in mental health preferably in a school setting.
- Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- First aid, triage, and assessment of students.
- Providing general health care to students and the college community as appropriate to their needs and situation.
- Administering medication to students, which is supplied by parents/guardians.
- Liaising with parents/guardians, teachers, support, and executive staff as necessary about the health needs of students.
- Maintaining accurate and up to date student records.
- Liaising with staff about first aid requirements on excursions, camps and at sporting activities.
- Stock maintenance, controls and ordering of goods and services required for our health department.
- Promoting and assisting with proactive healthcare initiatives such as Immunisation, early detection, and promoting healthy habits and practices across the school community.
- Provide administrative support as required.
- Work with Classroom staff to teach students about health and well being.
- Working collaboratively with other staff to promote the College's values
- Demonstrates high-level computer skills and literacy, with a comprehensive knowledge of computer packages including Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Workplace resilience and an ability to work under pressure.
