Form of workDecode Science, a provider of leading edge genomics technology matched with technical sales and applications support is expanding our sales team. Our customers are Biological Scientists in Research, Biotechnology and Clinical Diagnostics
As a result of our market success, Decode Science is seeking to appoint a Territory Manager to join our team. This position will see you utilise your scientific understanding to maintain and expand the existing South Australian and Western Australian territory which includes major Universities, research institutes and organisations. You will report to the Sales Manager and will play an active role in education, training, promoting and driving sales in the genomics industry along with developing and increasing the visibility of the Decode Science brand. The will always be opportunities for learning new skills as the product range evolves and new opportunities for career growth emerge.
The successful applicant will be expected to:
* Provide high-end technical sales and applications support including workshops, demonstrations and attending conferences
* Support and guide customers to identify solutions that may support their workflow
* Define and implement sales strategies and achieve sales targets
* Become an expert in the specific Decode Science product range
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of the customer base within the specific territory
* Provide market trends and competitive information to the Sales Manager and identify leads and opportunities for the sales team
* Willingness to travel to cover the required territory (approximately 30% travel)

Required skills & qualifications
The successful applicant will have:
* A proven track record with customers
* MSc qualifications in Biology –Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded
* Research experience in Genomics
* Outstanding communications, scientific presentation and business development skills
* Strong work ethic, self-motivated, confident and engaging
* Knowledge of the life science and biotechnology landscape
* Commercial acumen: ability to identify and pursue commercial opportunities and provide solutions to meet customer needs
