Job description

Scrum Master - Melbourne Office - Permanent Full Time

A great opportunity for an Scrum Master to work closely with your product and engineering colleagues, you will be responsible for promoting the adoption of Scrum and supporting the teams in its practices and values. You will facilitate and coach the teams to self-organise, inspect and adapt, and play a pivotal role in delivering delightful outcomes for our customers.

In addition to fulfilling the role of a Scrum Master, you will assist with Project/Release Management activities as they arise. You will develop a deep understanding of the current and emerging methods used within government property and valuation. The technology you will be working with includes our market-leading Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) software, Automated Valuation Models (AVMs), state-of-the-art geospatial products, and partner solutions (including Salesforce).

You will be surrounded by people with a proven track record of delivering products that move the property and valuation industry forward. In the process, you will meaningfully contribute to the improvement of government services through innovation, as we create the national property platform for government.

Who are you?

The ideal candidate will…

  • Scrum

    • Making sure everyone on the team understands the project's goals and scope

    • Helping the product team maintain the product backlog

    • Facilitating Scrum events (daily standups, backlog prioritisation, grooming sessions, etc) as needed

    • Helping to remove obstacles to the teams progress

    • Manage risks and dependencies

    • Keeping the organisation, particularly the project's stakeholders, up to date on the progress of the scrum team's projects

  • Release

    • Managing, planning, and negotiating release activities

    • Managing risks and resolving challenges that impact release scope, quality, and schedules

    • Managing relationships working on interrelated processes

    • Communicating crucial release plans and changes

    • Working with release engineers to comprehend code merges and branch ramifications

    • Coordinating processes between different teams

  • Practice

    • Coaching the development team in self-organisation

    • Embed agile approaches and other industry best practice into team delivery

    • Develop team environments that supports team engagement and high performance in a diverse, distributed and partnered way

  • People

    • Work collaboratively with the Product, Technology and PMO Teams

    • Build and maintain constructive working relationships and engagement with team members, stakeholders and leaders across the business to ensure delivery is smooth and customer centric

    • Positively contribute to the culture of your team, build engagement and morale, set structure and processes and build and maintain a high performing team

Attributes

  • Proficient in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Experiencing working closely with Product and Technical teams

  • Experience with Waterfall, Agile and Lean methodologies

  • Superior communication and relationship management skills

  • Highly productive, with the ability to lead and work both independently and as a team member

  • Experience working for a service provider delivering to government or large corporate
