About the RoleAs an APS4 Security Administration Officer you are accountable, under limited direction, for the administration and provision of support in the day-to-day running of the Agency's personnel security functions, including managing the security inbox. This work can be complex in nature and may require the individual to work with sensitive issues independently, or with assistance from the broader team where needed.Working in accordance with security policies and procedures, the Personnel Administration Officer will enable organisational effectiveness and efficiency through the provision of support in managing the Agency's personnel security posture, including through internal and external stakeholder engagement.
Duties- Have functional expertise in Protective Security or Administration that contributes to team goals.
- Provide sound advice and recommendations which influence the decisions made by others, across a range of Protective Security matters including pre-employment and security clearance processes.
- Coordinate complex administration tasks in regards to Personnel security, specifically the maintenance of the Designated Security Assessed Position register and the AGSVA Security Clearance Portal.
Skills and Experience- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Knowledge of and experience with the Australian Government Security Framework (i.e. Protective Security Policy Framework) is highly desirable.
What's on offerThe successful candidate will notionally be offered a 12 month hourly rate contract at the APS4 level. This position is based in Canberra.As this role is with the Federal Government, only Australian citizens with a current NV1 or a willingness to obtain and maintain will be considered for this vacancy.
