The role
We are currently seeking to recruit a junior member to the team in the role of Security Analyst. You will be someone just starting out in cyber security, is passionate about security and technology, a resilient self-starter and can work autonomously on tasks. You will often be liaising with technical and non-technical people at all levels, so clear verbal and written communication is essential.
As a junior member of the team, you will be introduced to the technologies and systems used to support the Firm's Cyber Security Strategy. Your role will be to learn and support the various technologies and to provide day to day operational support to the business. The role also expects a high level of self-initiative.
The IT Security team
The team's primary objective is to protect the Firm from cyber security incidents. This includes providing prompt, accurate and meaningful support to the business to protect against events that may give rise to a breach. The team has a reputation for upholding the highest standards of customer services.
Key responsibilities
- Respond, investigate and report on security related tickets
- Support security systems and technologies
- Support and testing of security related technologies
- Maintain technology and service related documentation
- Help promote IT security practices in line with firm policy
- Proactively identify and recommend opportunities for operational efficiencies through automation
Qualifications
- Security+ Certification
- Certificate IV in Cyber Security or tertiary level qualification considered favourably
Skills & experience
- A minimum 12 months' technical experience in a security role
- Some exposure and practical experience with security technologies
- Experience with Cloud Security, Windows 10/11, TCP/IP
- Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
- Technical approach with a strong analytical skills
- Risk and cyber security mindset
- An ability to recognise, prioritise and escalate work requests appropriately
- Represent the Firm in a professional manner in dealing with external parties
Highly desirable
- Contextual knowledge about cyber security threats
- Knowledge of the ASD Essential 8
- Exposure to security standards such as ISO27001 and NIST
- SIEM technologies
- Cloud security concepts
- Management of anti-virus/malware and Nextgen technologies
