We are seeking a Senior Accountant to manage overall accounting and bookkeeping requirements and mentor junior team members.
Tasks and responsibilities
- A broad range of accounting tasks including but not limited to invoicing
- Management of accounts payable & receivable
- Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
- Conducting internal audits such as project reviews
- Examining financial records to check for accuracy
- Oversee monthly payroll for 120-140 employees
- Oversee and drive the month-end processes
- Assist with the year-end closure processes and statutory accounts
- Reconcile accounts and general ledger accounts to ensure accounts reconciliations are completed accurately and promptly
- Promptly identify and address any issues and discrepancies that arise
- Mentor and train other accounting staff
- Actively identify and implement process improvements for better efficiency
- Other ad-hoc duties i.e. project reports, project costing, budgeting, etc
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in either Accounting or Commerce.
- A minimum of five years of experience in an accounting role
- Ability to work independently to organize and prioritize demands and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Analytical mindset
- Commercial and business awareness
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal
- A keen eye for detail and a desire to probe further into data
- Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints
