About the role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Accountant will be responsible for a variety of financial aspects associated with running the Finance department of the business.
Key functions of this role:
- Month-end / year-end reports and reconciliations
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Bank reconciliations and cash management
- Payroll process and compliance
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Taxes (GST, FBT, Payroll tax, Company tax)
- Staff mentoring and development
- Ad-hoc duties as required
About you
- Must be well organised and able to juggle multiple tasks - dynamic, and action-orientated, who meets deadlines and makes it happen.
- Be an excellent communicator (written and verbal).
- Have the ability to work independently and take initiative but also must be enthusiastic team player.
- Willing to accept responsibility and make decisions based on experience, education and understanding of business needs and culture
- Able to learn and self-develop
- Willing to train and mentor others
- Have a problem-solving attitude
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years previous experience in an Accounts role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA qualified (or working towards).
- High level of competence in dealing with employee queries.
- Must be able to prioritize and work to meet deadlines.
- Have experience in a medium to large sized business.
- High level of computer proficiency in MS Office suite of applications, especially excel.
- MYOB experience.
- Knowledge of Power Query, Power Pivot and Power BI an advantage.
