Introduction to the roleEku Energy is seeking a Senior Asset Manager for our global battery storage business. In this pivotal role, you will Prepare and manage the Asset management phase of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects under construction and in operations within Australia/APAC and establish best practise and process for Eku asset management Globally.This role offers flexibility in terms of location within the APAC region, ideally in Melbourne or Sydney, and will have operational reporting to the Chief Technology Officer. Join us in advancing the transition to a low-carbon, sustainable global economy with battery storage investments.RequirementsResponsibilities of the role· Establish the appropriate frameworks and processes to enable best practises for Eku’s growing Global Asset Management portfolio.· Select and manage asset management platforms and provide oversight and reporting of all operational activities.· Implement global asset management strategy and process at the country and project level.· Prepare the Asset Management phase of projects by negotiating operational contracts, making sure contractual and technical interfaces are well defined and processes and technical solutions are in place to drive performance.· Ensure best-in class technical performance of BESS projects and create a feedback-loop with the trading team to maximise asset revenue.· Active monitoring, management and reporting of asset performance to both internal stakeholders and external counterparties.· Identification, tracking and management of all contractual and regulatory obligations associated with the operation phase of Eku assets.· Management of all project invoicing and market settlements where relevant.· Ongoing management of project funding agreements.· Management of procurement processes for all post-COD project-related contracts.· Coordination and management of BOP, OEM, and other service contractors’ access to project sites.
- Responsible for all relevant NEM registrations such as generator, customer in the electricity market during the project commissioning phase
· Responsible for obtaining and maintaining necessary licenses (generation license etc.) for project operation.· Manage compliance of the project against its contracts and closely monitor Operations Risk Management (O&M contract; BESS service agreement, grid connection agreement, planning consent, environmental permits, asset management agreement).· Establish operations budgets and revenue reporting to feed into project budgets.· Provide reporting on all financial performance and revenue performance aspects that are closely linked to the technical performance of the project.
Reporting· Prepare reporting for the Eku company board, project lenders and other stakeholders.· Lead ongoing progress meetings and internal meetings.· Provide briefings and project updates on a regular basis to relevant stakeholders.Competencies of the role· Extensive asset management experience across renewable and/or non-renewable assets.· A level of technical knowledge across generation assets, ideally BESS.
