About the Role
As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be a key player in the finance team, responsible for overseeing monthly financial reporting, accounting, and reconciliations for all Group entities. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will manage various accounting functions, assist in compliance tasks, and provide support for ad hoc projects. This role requires a proactive individual who can take ownership of accounting and reporting functions while contributing to continuous process improvement and talent development within the finance team.
Responsibilities:
- Review and manage all posted journals by the Accounting team
- Review month-end balance sheet reconciliations and support file required for substantiation
- Manage corporate Consolidation reporting through Onestream
- Finance business partnering with Operations to prepare and review financial reports, projections and annual budgets
- Engage with internal and external professionals to implement new systems, controls, processes and corresponding workflows
- Review of statutory and tax lodgments (eg. BAS, FBT, Income Tax Return, Australian Local Files and Hybrid Mismatch rules)
- Manage monthly and annual closing processes in the system
- Manage annual statutory audit with external auditors;
- Facilitate the internal audit process by providing timely information
- Mentor and train junior members of the finance team
- CA/CPA or equivalent qualification
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in large organizations
- Prior experience working in a large/mid-tier accounting firm is highly preferred
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred
