My client is a progressive and cloud-based firm with two offices in Australia and a growing presence overseas.
Not your typical accounting firm - their mission has been to offer the leading service in online based accounting. They use technology to deliver smarter, simpler and more efficient accounting solutions.
Majority of the firms clientele are start-ups and tech industry clients, that on average range from pre-revenue business up to $10 - $20 million in annual turnover.
They are now looking for a go-getter Senior Accountant to join their finance (Virtual CFO) team. This role will primarily be focused on providing outsourced management accounting services to a portfolio of clients, with a small component of year-end tax work (approximately 20%).
This role could suit a person currently working in an outsourced finance capacity, a business services accountant interested in transitioning into this area, or someone who has had a mix of commercial and practice experience. The position will be highly client-facing, so ideally you are someone who enjoys engaging closely with different stakeholders.

The firm has recently moved to a new WFH model, where the team are able to WORK FROM HOME 8-9 days a fortnight. With set in-office days to maximize collaboration and training.

Key duties will include:
- Month-end accounting, budgeting and forecasting
- Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
- Supervising and mentoring junior accountants
- Working closely with the Director to manage client relationships and ensure excellent service delivery
- Assisting with year-end tax work
- Identifying opportunities for value-add services and providing recommendations and advice to clients
The ideal candidate will possess:
- CA/CPA qualification or be currently completing this
- 3+ years accounting experience in either commercial or public practice
- Experience with cloud accounting software
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to think outside the box
- Great team-working abilities and strong sense or initiative
