Searson Buck is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant/Finance Manager with relevant NDIS experience. The position is temporary and will be within the aged care sector.About the role:The Senior Accountant/Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring the general and professional supervision and development of all staff within the Finance and Administration areas and ensuring the compliance of these areas with all statutory, accreditation and regulatory requirements.The duties consist of a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:
- Perform all accounting functions, including the budget process
- Engage in regular discussions with management regarding financial performance
- Utilise financial data and analysis of industry trends/economic predictions to advise on longer-term financial forecasts
- Payroll and Banking Management
- Management of the operations of the accounting and payroll systems including liaising with the service providers of these systems
- Foster and promote a culture of continuous improvement and identify and implement identified opportunities
- Strong MS Excel skills - comfortable with using MS Excel to analyse data/use of formulas/pivot tables in large Excel models
- Strong understanding of end-of-month processes
- Process improvement and documentation - the ability to collaborate with document processes and improve them where necessary
- Reporting - broad ability to understand regulatory environments and prepare reports in accordance with NDIS regulations
- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Preparation of BAS reports
- Good communication and prioritisation skills, attention to detail
- Minimum 3 years experience in an aged care/disability sector
- Highly developed conceptual thinking and reasoning skills with the ability to research, investigate, analyse and provide advice and solutions to meet the financial management objectives of the organisation
- Broad knowledge and understanding of financial matters, including payroll, taxation, compliance, asset management, insurance, contract management and reporting
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse team and provide support/guidance in relation to operational matters
- High-level service quality and continuous improvement capabilities
- High-level interpersonal skills and diplomacy
- Superior problem-solving ability and ability to negotiate successful outcomes
- Results-focused person with the ability to work autonomously with a hands-on job approach
- Great attention to detail and data accuracy
- Proficiency with systems and MS Office package
