The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia's independent expert regulator for health and safety, structural integrity, well integrity and environmental management for all offshore energy operations and greenhouse gas storage activities in Commonwealth waters, and in coastal waters where regulatory powers and functions have been conferred.
NOPSEMA also administers the functions of the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator (OIR), for the offshore renewables industry. This includes the regulation of work health and safety, infrastructure integrity, and environmental management for offshore renewable energy infrastructure activities.

We are seeking suitably skilled and experienced finance professionals to join our Perth Office on a full-time and part-time basis.
Roles:
NOPSEMA is recruiting experienced Senior Accountants to join its Finance and Procurement Team to deliver NOPSEMA’s financial reporting and governance in accordance with relevant legislation and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Director – Finance and Procurement, the core responsibilities of the roles encompass:
- Delivery of accurate and timely monthly management reporting and year-end financial statements.
- Delivery of timely and reliable budgets and forecasts.
- Support the delivery of financial insights to support decision making and planning.
- Proactive engagement with internal and external stakeholders including senior management, other Commonwealth Departments, and auditors.
- Delivery of the internal governance framework, ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness and appropriateness of NOPSEMA’s internal financial processes.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for experienced, hands-on, CA, ACCA or CPA qualified Senior Accountants with a background of delivering financial services, preparing budgets and forecasts and financial management reports.
You must be able to demonstrate:
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills and possess a high level of initiative and organisational skills to meet deadlines.
- excellent attention to detail and good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- a strong team player, with the ability to take initiative to resolve issues and flexibility to shift tasks and manage priorities to deliver on operational needs in a fast-paced environment.
- successful track-record in the application of continuous improvement methodologies/techniques and embedding a continuous improvement culture.
