About the Role
The Senior Accounts Payable Officer reports directly to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and assists in providing guidance, training and support to ensure a high performing and efficient Accounts Payable Team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Accounts Payable Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable Team
- Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable processes, including invoice receipt, validation, coding, approval and payment processing
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies, coding issues, and payment inquiries in a timely manner.
- Cultivate strong relationships with vendors, resolving disputes and negotiating favourable outcomes
- Creating instruction manuals and policies
- Continuously improve and develop systems, processes and procedures
About You
- Previous Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable principles, processes, and best practice, including regulatory compliance
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of JDE financial system and Medius (or similar)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
