About the Role

The Senior Accounts Payable Officer reports directly to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and assists in providing guidance, training and support to ensure a high performing and efficient Accounts Payable Team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Accounts Payable Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable Team
• Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable processes, including invoice receipt, validation, coding, approval and payment processing
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies, coding issues, and payment inquiries in a timely manner.
• Cultivate strong relationships with vendors, resolving disputes and negotiating favourable outcomes
• Creating instruction manuals and policies
• Continuously improve and develop systems, processes and procedures

About You

• Previous Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable principles, processes, and best practice, including regulatory compliance
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision 
• Knowledge of JDE financial system and Medius (or similar)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
