Senior Accounts Receivable Officer

We are currently seeking the expertise of a Senior Accounts Receivable Officer based at our boutique head office based in Newstead. 

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with our Commercial and Operations teams, this role forms an integral part of our finance operations.  This is a great opportunity to join a skilled and collaborative team in a role that also provides autonomy.

Primary Objectives

• Preparation of timely and accurate customer invoices
• Billing analysis and client reporting
• Management of the collections processes
• Monitoring and resolving internal & external client queries
• Identify system and process improvement opportunities
• Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Manager

Main Duties / Responsibilities

• Preparation of invoices for multiple business units in accordance with contracted rates and terms
• Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries
• Generate ad hoc invoices and credit memos when required
• Reconciling accounts and conducting account research and analysis
• Review and interpret customer contracts
• Prepare price escalation calculations and ensure they are implemented in a timely fashion
• Recognise process and operational inefficiencies and work with stakeholders to develop solutions/improvements
• Proactively identify collections priorities and liaise with customer contacts and commercial managers to advance payments
• Accurate receipting of incoming payments
• Compliance reporting for our AR funding facility
•  support for month-end and year-end closing activities

Requirements, Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in a full-function AR role
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred (but not required)
• Experience with a large ERP system (SAP, Oracle, JDE, NetSuite, etc.).
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and comfortable with other Microsoft Office products
•  sound with the ability to pick up new systems
• Self-motivated with experience in prioritising, time management and working to deadlines
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Adaptable to and a willingness to contribute to change
• Takes pride in your work and ownership of outcomes
