About the role
We are looking for a Senior Advisor - Strategic Agreements to be a part of the Iron Ore Finance Business Partnering division and reporting into the Senior Manager - Strategic Agreements.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Leadership of a small team responsible for the payment of quarterly benefits to the Traditional Owners on whose country we operate
  • Liaising with various internal teams, including IS&T, Mine Technical Services, Communities & Social Performance and Group Services, to ensure quarterly benefit payments are as accurate and timely as possible
  • Engaging with representatives of traditional owner groups in relation to benefit payments and associated methodologies
  • Providing regular updates to GM and MD level audience in relation to status of ongoing benefit payments, improvement priorities and key stakeholder concerns
  • Oversight of annual external auditor engagements for agreed upon procedures
  • Reviewing quarterly benefit payment calculations and related inputs
  • Assisting with related month end, quarter end and year end reporting requirements
To be successfully considered for the role, you will have the following:
  • Balance the importance of relationship-building with action delivery
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues and partners (internal and external) in a collaborative way
  • Successfully make connections between data/technical information and business activities to provide insightful analysis
  • Continuous improvement mindset to simplify, standardise and automate processes and reporting
  • Experience working with legal agreements or contracts and executing related financial implications
  • Experience working with and influencing external auditors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Where you will be working
This role is based the Perth CBD in the Central Park offices, with flexible working arrangements available.
