Due to continued growth, Pallas Capital’s Credit team has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Analyst - Asset Management.
About the role
The purpose of this role is to support the Group Executive – Head of Credit with loan management and recovery and to assist with executing new opportunistic credit strategy. This role will work closely with the Credit and Loan Management team, CIO and structured finance team. The role requires strong experience in financial modelling and previous experience in debt recovery or insolvency (real estate focussed).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing watchlist and non-performing loans offering insights and strategy on recovery action.
- Manage external stakeholders (legal, consultants etc.) to coordinate execution of recovery strategy.
- Manage internal investment team on funding strategy and portfolio allocation.
- Oversee portfolio reporting including timely and accurate investor and internal reports.
- Leverage expertise in debt recovery to proactively manager and address challenges associated with non-performing loans.
- Work closely with the Head of Credit and CIO to review opportunistic credit and equity opportunities.
- Prepare investment papers for real estate development and investment transactions for internal and external purposes to cover credit (senior debt, mezzanine debt) and equity (preferred equity and ordinary equity).
- Utilize advanced financial modelling skills to assess and analyse both loan recovery scenarios and opportunistic transactions.
- Structure financial models and provide recommendations to the Head of Credit and CIO.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in in Commerce, Property Economics, Finance, Accounting or related discipline experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in real estate investment banking, insolvency (real estate preferred) debt advisory and/or direct property development experience as an analyst
- Experience building, using and/or reviewing financial models
- Relevant post graduate studies (CFA, CA, MBA, FINSIA, Masters in Finance) would be looked upon favourably
- Advanced numeric and excel skills
- Knowledge of property valuation principles, real estate finance structures for investment and development across the major asset classes
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Ability to read and interpret feasibilities, valuation reports and market information
- Continual improvement mindset while being agile and deal focused
