The opportunity

This role is an integral part of the Group FP&A team; supporting the business to make effective decisions through analysing data, producing reports and providing key insights and recommendations. Responsible for coordinating the reporting, planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for expenses; providing insights to senior stakeholders to enable continued business success.

Your new role

  • Accountable for end-to-end expense reporting and providing valuable insights on the impact to the Group's performance. This includes managing the Group Head Office cost base, providing analysis that supports organisational cost initiatives, facilitating regular reviews by, and challenge to Group Executives and ensuring that an adequate control framework is in place
  • Drive consistency and transparency in expense management practices across Group Finance to optimally support business decisions through the cross functional collaboration and leveraging resources in the supervision of offshore support roles in the Group Shared Service Centre in the Philippines
  • Maintain effective budgeting and forecasting processes aligned to the Group business planning process including management of timelines, deliverables, key assumptions and consistent and coherent outputs for Group Executive review
  • Play a key role supporting the Finance Manager - Expenses in the achievement of projects, including process improvement and best practices in expense reporting, ensuring quality of data and oversee the development of reporting which meets the needs of our customers. Engaging with senior stakeholders to provide value-added analysis along with clear and concise commentary
  • Identify expense risk and opportunities and recommend and influence actions, using appropriate judgment in dealing with unexpected issues and requests, demonstrating an ability to prioritise work, and balance resource requirements to achieve optimal outcomes.
Please note that for the successful candidate, this process will include a phone screen with our Talent Acquisition team, 2/3 interviews (either face to face or online via Teams) and background checks.

About you

  • Experience in the financial services industry preferable
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and experience in Power BI is advantageous
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with high level of attention to detail and ability to work systematically through complex matters
  • Strong understanding of business performance drivers, particularly expense drivers
  • Excellent team player and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across a variety of functions
  • Qualifications in commerce or business-related discipline
  • Professional accounting qualification desirable but not required - ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent
