DRA Brisbane are actively seeking Expression of Interest for Senior and Lead Mechanical Designerswanting tojoin our solid core team of Designers to lead future work across a wide range of commodities all over the world, from concept studies to detail design.
Brief Duties
As a Mechanical Designer at DRA you will be hands on in providing timely and professional delivery of project deliverables in accordance with the company, client and projects requirements such as but limiting to;
- Produce models and detailed technical drawings, in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
- Facilitate design reviews and coordinate multi-discipline teams.
- Use your initiative and experience to deliver practical layout solutions and designs Ensure project time and cost are met - monitor effectiveness of designs, scheduling of work, resource requirements and review compliance with project schedule and client expectations.
- Liaise daily with Project Managers, Designers, Engineers and clients.
- Provide technical guidance and Leadership to junior team members.
- Demonstrate a high standard of personal safety and safe design practices.
About You
- 6 + years relevant experience in a similar Mechanical Designer position working on mining and minerals projects.
- Relevant Diploma or Associate Degree – Highly advantageous.
- An understanding of the key aspects of layout design. Simplicity, constructability, operability, and cost effectiveness.
- Proficiency in MicroStation design software desirable.
- Understanding of relevant Australian and industry codes and standards
- Strong deliverable focus and ability to plan the work
- Innovative thinker with the ability to work autonomously to deadlines.
- A good attitude, team focus and willingness to learn.
- Valid rights to work in Australia
