Our client is an international law with a corporate/investment funds team that has a first class reputation both locally and overseas.
Our client has a blue chip client base and this particular team acts for global asset managers, fund managers, hedge funds, venture capitalists, major banks, financial services companies, ASX-Listed companies, off-shore companies superannuation companies, clients in the infrastructure & energy sector, clients in the retail & manufacturing sector, clients in the real estate and construction sectors etc
The partner that leads the team is well known in the industry and is often the 'go to' partner for M&A/Investment Funds work.
As a Senior Associate you will have autonomy and responsibility. You will play an important role on deals and you will have responsibilities for mentoring graduates and junior lawyers in the team.
A flavour of the work will include:
- M&A transactions, private equity and capital raisings/IPOs in the investment funds space
- product structuring and development
- draft fund and corporate documents and all associate documents associated with fund establishment
- assist with fund establishment in Australia and structuring, product disclosure and distribution including advise on regulatory and licensing compliance
- providing advice in relation to regulatory issues under the Corporations Act
- drafting documents such as registered scheme constitutions, trust deeds, co-investment agreements, custodian agreements
- providing advice in relation to Australian Financial Services Licensing (AFSL) requirements
- working with government and peak industry bodies on policy development
There is always a healthy pipeline of work in the team.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 3 years pae in the area of corporate/investment funds
- Excellent technical and advisory skills
- Ability to foster strong client relationships
- First class communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to mentor and motivate more junior members of the team
- Desire to play a part in the further growth of the team and the team's client base
