THE OPPORTUNITY
Location: Birtinya
The Senior Automation Systems Administrator is responsible for global oversight and management of the processes around our core Digital tools.
These solutions include hosting (Vcentre, Virtual appliances), Application (e.g. Ignition, Citect and associated backup and access tools), SCADA (Ignition), networks (Control network management, lower networks), hardware (PLC, Remote IO, switched controls) and the associated security suites (e.g. Claroity, Defender).
ABOUT YOU
Your responsibilities
- Manage and administer OT Windows Server infrastructure, ensuring its optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Ensure all OT infrastructure is represented in the CMDB accurately and that these systems are enrolled in standard backup and security models.
- Establish, maintain and audit standards for the implementation of applications and solutions globally with the systems scope.
- Monitor system performance and health using SolarWinds, identifying and resolving any issues proactively.
- Oversee end-point management for OT devices using Intune, including device provisioning, software deployment, and security configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure-related problems.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to systems configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for system enhancements.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL
You will possess strong technical knowledge and a proven track record in efficiently managing and maintaining critical IT and OT infrastructure components.
You will bring with you:
- Strong expertise in SCADA design, build and management, ideally through Ignition platform.
- Capability to review and support the design of PLC Code, especially for Control Logix platforms.
- Experience in monitoring systems using SolarWinds or similar network monitoring tools.
- Understanding of end-point management using Intune or other mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and its features for endpoint security.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
