Our retail stores allow the experience to be visually taken in by customers and passing trade, with cookies being baked and sold within the hour every hour and paired with creamy soft serve, milkshakes and specialty coffee. About the Opportunity
Butterboy is looking for an experienced Senior baker who will act 2IC (Second in Command), your responsibilities would typically involve assisting the Head Baker in overseeing the operations of the bakery department. This role is part of our leadership team and is critical in maintaining a menu that pushes the boundaries.
How you will contribute
- Collaborate with the Head Baker to create and update menus, considering seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and dietary restrictions
- Supervise production to ensure quality standards are met efficiently
- Organize production schedules, coordinate with kitchen staff, and maintain inventory levels
- Standardise recipes for consistent taste, presentation, and portion sizes
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality and hygiene standards are maintained
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure ingredient availability
- Ensure high product standards and cost-effective operations
- Prepare ingredients and handle baking equipment
- Train new bakers on baking techniques, recipes, and kitchen procedures
The Ideal Candidate Must Have
- 2 years experience in a similar role
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or above recommended
- Have a strong work ethic and take pride in the consistency and presentation of the food produced
- NSW FSS (Food Safety Supervisor) Certificate
- Demonstrated experience in high volume, fast-paced bakery environment
- Resilient and able to perform in high-pressure service periods
- Passionate about pastry and the baking industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong understanding of food safety standards
- Able and willing to work rotating roster that includes weekends and public holiday
