About the role
This is a role for someone who is ready to take more ownership of the overall performance of their products in market. The brand you will be managing is currently number 2 in its category and requires someone who can drive campaigns that educate and connect with a health-conscious customer. You will have full ownership of the P&L, marketing budget, supplier relationships and the support a Brand Manager and a global team.
Here's a summary of what you'll be responsible for:
- Understanding consumers inside out (needs, behaviours & trends) and defining clear tribes to target;
- Analysing existing brand positioning and marketing strategies, identifying growth opportunities and creating brand plans;
- Define the innovation brand pipeline vision and long-term communication strategy;
- Understand retailers & category needs, and define clear win-win strategies for profitable & sustainable growth;
- Work with partner agencies to develop a creative platform that responds to the brand communication; objectives, ensuring it resonates with consumer insights and brand positioning;
- Constant portfolio review, including pricing & promotional strategy to adapt to the market dynamics and secure market share gains;
- Supervise new product development and execution, ensuring effective internal project management processes and reporting;
- Full ownership of brand P&L (topline and bottom line) and brand A&P to ensure profitable growth; and
- Lead, mentor and develop one direct report (Brand Manager).
About you
This is a position for a talented Senior Brand Manager with strong commercial acumen and proven strategic marketing capability. To be considered for this role, your background and skills must meet the following requirements:
- Melbourne based candidate, with the ability to be in the office at least 3 days per week;
- At least 7 years marketing experience in FMCG, and currently performing a Brand Manager or Senior Brand Manager role (preferably in a functional brand or healthcare);
- Proven track record of brand positioning and brand strategy process, with the aptitude to lead brand initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
- Proven track record in successful project leadership/management, including collaboration with key functions such as R&D, SSD, SC and Industrial;
- Extensive experience working within an NPD Stage Gate process, from ideation to execution;
- Experience working with media & creative agencies in the delivery of multi-channel communications campaigns
- Experience and full understanding of P&L management;
- A data driven marketer with proven experience in using data insights for meaningful input to decision making; and
- Proven record of direct reports management, coaching and development.
