What will you be doing?
Business Analysis (65%)
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business needs, objectives, and challenges. Conduct thorough analysis of current systems, processes, and data to identify areas for improvement and gather detailed requirements for changes to/new technology solutions.
- Solution Design: Utilize technical expertise to translate business requirements into functional specifications and system designs. Work closely with development teams to ensure proposed solutions align with business objectives, technical feasibility, and architectural standards.
- Data Analysis: Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform decision-making and drive process improvements. Develop data models and data mapping documentation to facilitate data integration across systems.
- ·Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to business analysis and system implementations. Actively contribute to the improvement of processes, methodologies, and tools used within the business analysis function.
Project Management (35%)
- Development of the Project Plan and tracking key milestones
- Identification of Risks; Issues; and capturing of Actions; Decisions (RAID)
- Reporting and presenting project status management reports
What will you need to succeed?
- Experience as a Business Analyst within the Australian energy market.
- Exposure to the Australian Energy market including market operations, energy trading, settlement systems, and regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of energy market systems, protocols, and standards (e.g., NEM, AEMO, AS/NZS 4777)
- Proficiency in requirements gathering techniques, process modelling, data analysis, and solution design.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and the software development life cycle.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with business intelligence tools, data visualization tools, process automation tools and SQL is advantageous.
- Certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), Project Management certifications are a plus.
