Role Summary
The role will be responsible, in collaboration with product, operations, technology leads, for the execution of the global Transfer Agency / Unit Registry strategic transformation roadmap for Northern Trust with a primary focus on Australia.
The key responsibility of the Senior Business Analyst will be to lead the design of a modular future state operating model in collaboration with product, technology and strategic external partners, gathering operational requirements, creation of detailed business requirements documentation, ensuring operational readiness, implementation execution and operational handover for each defined milestone project and all related Business Analyst tasks.
This strategic ambition of the roadmap is complex with multiple dimensions, involving stakeholders and partners, both internal and external, across multiple countries and time zones and will likely involve change impacts to the business to achieve and maintain the key objectives. The role will assist also to develop a delivery strategy and structure that will adequately manage delivery risk and will maximise the program outcomes. The role will manage delivery against the strategy and will ensure ongoing alignment to deliver the program intent and realise the quantified and qualitative benefits.
What you will do
The key responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Confirm and engage with stakeholders (internal, external and 3rd parties) to ratify scope and objectives.
- Identify cross/multi-project dependencies (where appropriate) and align plans across all.
- Facilitating workshops with stakeholder groups to identify requirements
- Documenting “As Is” and “To Be” processes, using narratives, process flows, swim lanes diagrams etc
- Ensure all gaps/developments identified, and steps to resolve/complete are agreed and documented.
- Monitor progress and maintain regular, timely & accurate communications to all stakeholders.
- May require representing the project at standard governance & steering meetings.
- Provide reporting to various stakeholder audiences, setting & managing expectations at all stages.
- Establish clear roles & responsibilities.
- Identifying risks and implementing solutions to mitigate against these risks.
- Managing changes to plans, assessing impact on business requirements.
- Chairing and leading workshops with Technology and Business partners to define and document project requirements.
- Maintain governance by following project management best practice and use of approved document templates.
- Keep all documents up to date, accurate, formatted, in correct folder structure, version controlled, ready for audit inspections.
- Monitor issue resolution and capture approach; feed into Lessons Learnt for the benefit of future projects and encourage others within project team to record and advise of other potential process improvements.
About You
- Transfer Agency / FA experience with thorough knowledge of Business Analyst procedures and processes, in addition to people management skills – hiring, team management, mentoring, performance management.
- Business Analysis certification is desirable
- Certification and experience in Agile / Scrum framework (ACP, PSM or CSM).
- Knowledge of Transfer Agency TA Platforms.
- Knowledge of some of following - Swift messaging, API’s, Kafka, Micro-services, UXP design, Fund Accounting platforms (such as Global Invest One).
- Knowledge of Investment Funds Industry with particular emphasis on the Transfer Agency.
- Previous experience of Change Management/Business Analysis in an equivalent role
- Experience of managing delivery of software solutions in line with client’s technical specifications and/or business model requirements
- Must be able to work effectively with all levels of staff and management in IT, business units and vendors.
- Experience with large scale projects, and cross-team collaboration with strong influencing & persuasion skills
- Ability to challenge status quo & effectively solve problems with solutions focused mindset
- Strong communications skills (both verbal & written) with ability to deliver stand-up presentations to internal/external audiences at all levels
