Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager - Protein Retail and Channels, the Senior Business Analyst - Commercial Protein is a key commercial role supporting the Buying and Merchandising team for Meat, Poultry and Seafood. The role forms part of the Greenstock Finance team (Home Team), but partners strongly with both the Buying and Merchandising team for Meat, Poultry & Seafood (Delivery Team), as well as Commercial Finance (Delivery Team).
What you'll do
Performance Reporting and Interpretation
- Deliver insightful analysis and commercial recommendations across sales, gross profit, Contribution Margin and inventory, while working with the Category teams
- Identify promotional investment risks, partner with stakeholders to develop workable action plans in relation to adverse trends, and ensure they're managed and captured in the forecast result
- Partner across Greenstock Finance to build a narrative that supports results, aligned to the Greenstock value chain
- Work closely with partner teams (eCom, Loyalty, Cartology, Stock Loss etc.) to understand performance drivers and achieve strategic alignment with the buying team
- Be curious about trends and results and be proactive in delving into them, delivering these insights to Business Partners
- Drive monthly Overhead, Headcount and Capex Reporting & Forecasting process.
Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting
- Drive the end to end process of the annual operating plan
- Support the business partners to build driver-based budget and forecast
- Deliver the monthly forecast process and weekly forecast update to understand key performance drivers and course correction actions
Decision Support
- Identify key drivers of profit and opportunities for business improvement across all levels and across key sales categories
- Ad Hoc support to the buying team as required, such as inflation, product profitability, mix impact, new products development, investment buys, range reviews, price index, market share analysis, stock loss, product availability etc.
What you'll bring
- Proven business partnering skills with a strong desire to add commercial value through analysis and insight
- Experience in a financial role (strong commercial analytical experience preferred).
- Advanced systems SAP, Excel, AFO, WBI, Google applications including GCP skills
- Flexible approach to meet critical deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Commitment to Woolworths ways of working, finance strategy and vision
