Job description
As a senior member of the Operational Support & Improvement team, you will use your technical expertise to support and enhance key Business Systems and deliver effective and reliable systems support for users. You will play a critical role in supporting the Business Systems Manager to facilitate proactive and regular maintenance tasks, incident investigation and resolution, request fulfilment and continuous service improvement activities.
Your key responsibilities- Provide responsive Business Systems support in the investigation and resolution of complex incidents and problems.- Provide specialist technical knowledge and skills in the fulfilment of requests from internal staff, other I&CT teams, or external service providers.- Perform system administration tasks, routine system checks and maintenance activities on VAQ's systems.- Provide reporting services to VAQ management and staff, including pre-developed and ad hoc reports as required and provide training to VAQ staff on these reports.- Perform business as usual changes to VAQ's systems including external interfaces and assist with the design and implementation of major system changes and enhancements.- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including clients, colleagues, other business units, and external providers.- Maintain an awareness of current and emerging whole of Government ICT through researching of strategies, policies, standards, and of relevant technologies and industry best practice.- Use your initiative and proactive approach to identify opportunities and initiatives that will enhance VAQ's Business Systems.
Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability- Applicants should preferably have experience in developing and maintaining financial information systems; Resolve case management software and SQL (Structured Query Language).- Managing a busy system administration and support service and performing complex upgrades of business software.- Completes workload within established timeframes and adjusts priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.- Sets priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job and responsibilities.- Prioritises assignments to complete work in a timely manner.- Contributes to workplace equity, diversity, respect and inclusion that enriches our culture of respect and inclusion.- Behaves in an ethical, respectful and culturally sensitive manner.- Analyses complex technical data using logic and reasoning.- Organises material, information and/or people in a systematic way to optimise efficiency and minimise duplication of effort.
