- Budget: Drive cost reductions through negotiations, leverage, rationalization, market tests, process improvements, etc. to meet annual budget objective
- Develop competitive negotiations to drive cost reduction initiatives with the global supply base, while meeting capacity and quality requirements
- Provide leadership in and developing an understanding of and insight into the market for the commodities assigned; including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead-times, technology and manufacturing capability of company suppliers and suppliers in the market that best meet expectations and objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance to meet company expectations and objectives. Capable of managing the most complicated and difficult supplier relationships and performance issues.
- Anticipate, recognize, analyse and solve complex supply problems; communicating to and involving colleagues, management and stakeholders as necessary.
- Identifies areas requiring process improvement (Major Area of Opportunity). Initiates and leads team-based effort to implement improvements; ensure coordination actions with other personnel to ensure consistent message.
- Programs: Source/Leverage parts for new platforms to meet program timing, cost, quality, delivery, and strategic objectives
- Field Campaigns: Negotiates timely closure of field campaigns within budget
- Strategy: Develops/Implements commodity strategy for assigned parts/commodities. This includes supply base rationalization and identification/ development of low cost country suppliers.
- VA/VE: Works with suppliers/engineering to identify design/manufacturing process improvement ideas
- Takes action to address supplier pricing and/or delivery issues; advises management of market conditions and supply base activity which presents significant risk or needs to be elevated to management's attention.
- Drives continuous supplier quality improvement through participating in rapid improvement events, supplier quality audits, training, and parts certification as required.
- Ensures accounts payable and other financial processes are fully supported via maintaining up-to-date prices and payment terms in the system, performing a timely review of work load queues and through implementation of the EDI/ASN process.
- Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

- Experience in driving Commodity strategies to improve performance on cost, quality, and delivery.
- Effectively communicate across all organizational levels, departments, and functions
- Experience in working large multi-national corporations & exposure to matrix organisations will be an advantage.
- Proven project management and process improvement skills
- Hand-on experience with MS Office tools (MS Exel, Power Point, MS Planner, MS Teams)
- SAP user experience preferred.
- Ability to perform scenario analysis and strategy development
- Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to perform cost assessments and analysis
- Experience developing commodity budgets, maintaining budgeting data bases and delivering budget targets on annual basis, including financial / price projection, reporting and variance analysis
- Experience in tracking economic and market trends of various key cost drivers to make fully informed sourcing decisions, analysing statistical and numerical market data to identify areas of opportunity, and developing commodity strategies / business strategies
- Significant experience in a supply activity with several years of commodity purchasing experience including proven track record of success.
- Thorough knowledge of corporate purchasing practices and the sourcing process.
- NAPM CPM and APICS CPIM certifications are preferred.
