Overview

The Women’s & Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia.  We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. 

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services for perinatal women.

Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Education Consultation (PIMHEC) provides education, consultation and liaison to primary health providers who treat parents and infant/s and young children up to the age of 2, as well as managing the Helen Mayo House inpatient waitlist.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within PIMHEC to join us as Senior Clinician (AHP3/RN3) on an ongoing, part time basis.

Employees classified at this level are experts within their area and stream of practice (mental health) and have a significant degree of autonomy and decision making.

The Senior Clinician (AHP3)

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute expert mental health assessment and advice to local clinical teams.
  • Provide coordination and day to day clinical leadership of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide leadership and direction, act a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person.
  • Contribute specific expertise to monitor and evaluate research activities.

Nurse Consultant (RN3)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, expert clinical infant and perinatal mental health nursing care.
  • Contribute expert mental health nursing assessment and advice to local clinical teams.
  • Provide leadership and direction, act a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person.
  • Implement and co-ordinate within span of control, processes for quality improvement and continuity within corporate risk management and nursing/midwifery professional practice frameworks.
