Leading Australian University is seeking a Senior Communications Manager for an initial 6 month contract with a strong possibility to extend due to the multi-year program of work being delivered.As the Senior Communications Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing program-relevant communications channels, developing and implementing audience-driven channel strategies, and ensuring effective internal communications across the University. You will work closely with University leaders to provide strategic communications advice, develop messaging, and implement communications plans for key projects.To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a relevant field, along with extensive experience in developing and evolving audience-driven communications channel strategies. You have strong project management abilities, and the capacity to manage competing priorities effectively.The ideal candidate will have experience working in a complex multi-faceted organisation, providing strategic communications advice and support across various channels and environments. Experience in writing and editing targeted communications to meet strategic objectives is also essential. - Lead the development and analysis of insights into staff audiences and stakeholders to guide campaigns, tactics, and decision-makingacross the internal communications team in support of University strategic objectives
- Lead the development and maintenance, and encour age the use of effective communications tools and guidance that facilitate communication by leaders and managers across the University, in support of the University’s strategic goals
- Identify and appropriately manage responses to highly sensitive issues that may negatively impact staff and/or the University’s reputation. Liaise with senior stakeholders to develop messaging
- Lead the development and implementation of methodologies for tracking and measuring the impact and effectiveness of staff communications. Input into the preparation of reports and make recommendations for improvements
- Contribute high-quality audience-driven messaging and content to support the University’s strategic priorities, including building and implementing communications plans for key projects
- Develop strong working relationship with senior stakeholders across the University to provide strategic communications advice and input
- Develop effective and supportive relationship with staff at all levels across the University and maintain a customer-focussed approach in the delivery of services
- Experience in developing and evolving audience-driven communications channel strategies and content production to meet strategic and business requirements
- Experience in developing methodologies and systems to enable and improve internal communications by leaders and managers
- Experience leading and mentoring other staff to achieve high standards of client service delivery and teamwork
- Experience working in a complex multi-faceted organisation
- Significant experience in a senior role providing strategic communications advice and support in a complex multi-faceted environment, working across a range of channels and environments
- Significant experience writing and editing targeted communications to meet strategic objectives and create audience advocacy
