To successfully develop its renewable energy projects globally, we aim to meet international standards relating to social performance (SP) and generate stakeholder support for our Projects.The Senior Communities Advisor will play a pivotal role supporting the team with respect to compliance with our external and internal commitments, identifying SP risks and opportunities and reporting on our performance against internal and external commitments and requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the Communities & Social Performance (CSP) work program to advance 'our CSP way of working'. Building on the foundation established in our first two years, advance our systems, tools and approaches to ensure a systematically high standard of social performance management across the Energy portfolio.
- Work collaboratively across the Sustainability group - including with our environment, approvals, carbon and green certification and lands teams - to identify and implement synergies and efficiencies in how we develop and operate our energy projects sustainably across the globe. The role will also require you to collaborate with the Metals business to identify synergies and alignment.
- Integrate CSP requirements across relevant Fortescue systems including evolving Health, Safety, Environment & Community (HSEC) management systems, information management systems, our Energy Project Investment Framework, and a suite of policies, standards, tools/templates and training.
- Lead efforts to implement and roll out new systems and approaches, ensuring effective change management processes support this growth.
- Design fit for purpose assurance processes to support our growing portfolio.
Qualifications and Experience- Degree in relevant social science field, economics, communications, international relations, and/or community development.
- Advanced MS Word and PowerPoint training/skills
- Global social performance standards and frameworks such as the International Finance Corporation's Performance Standards, The Voluntary Principles etc.
- High level analytical skills related to social performance.
- Comprehensive writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across business functions.
- Development of assurance and governance processes and systems.
- Knowledge of stakeholder management and grievance reporting systems.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in social performance in the energy and/or resources sector industry.
- Proven experience in data management, systems and processes and analysis
- Experience in a similar social performance position with international project experience, would be highly advantageous.
