ABOUT THE ROLE
The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is a division of the Department of Justice which creates and permanently stores birth, death, change of name and marriage records for life events occurring in Western Australia and performs civil marriages in the Perth Registry Office.
The Registry is seeking motivated and passionate individuals with a strong desire to help others and make a positive impact in the community.
The Senior Community Engagement Officer plays a significant role in developing and delivering registry related services and educational programs to community groups of diverse backgrounds, cultures and minority groups. The successful candidate monitors the effectiveness of existing programs and identifies opportunities where the Registry’s objectives can be progressed and achieved.
As the key liaison point for the Registry’s Community Engagement Team, the Senior Community Engagement Officer will establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and community groups to enable mutually beneficial consultation, collaboration and negotiation during the development and delivery of these initiatives.
As part of this role, the Senior Officer will, on occasion, be expected to travel to engage, in person, with members of the Western Australian community including those in remote and regional towns and communities.

POOL RECRUITMENT
This pool will be open for a period of 18 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent or fixed term full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies at similar locations, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.

ELIGIBILITY
The Senior Community Engagement Officer will be required to regularly travel to deliver Registry related services throughout the metro and regional areas of Western Australia. As such you will need:
- A current and valid WA Motor Vehicle Drivers’ Licence
- To be available for regular intrastate travel
