About the Role:
As a highly skilled leader, the Senior Consultant will work within the senior safeguarding team and play a key role in implementing the Service's strategic plan that guides the service. This will include a focus on developing and supporting key stakeholder relationships across a range of sectors, sharing the stories and successes of our work to support others in protecting children and young people from abuse, developing knowledge, materials, and resources that support best practice in protecting children and young people from abuse and managing and delivering on client expectations that support and enable organisational compliance and cultural transformation to keep children and young people safe from abuse.
Due to the geographical scope of the Safeguarding Services, the Senior Consultant may be expected to travel within States/Territories, interstate, and/or internationally at times.
About You/Key Selection Criteria:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in the area of working with vulnerable people, including children and young people and the prevalence of abuse.
- Experience in program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience in project management.
- Demonstrated ability to provide advice and advocacy as well as develop written policies and procedural frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and provision of training packages.
- Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain effective relationships/partnerships with other agencies and key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Sound interpersonal skills, including demonstrated capacity to negotiate sensitive and complex issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and responsively in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to a learning culture and continuous improvement.
- A current Australian driver's licence or equivalent.
- A valid Working with Children Check (or equivalent).
