We are currently looking for an experienced Research and Development Senior Consultant to join our growing team as part of the Brisbane Tax practice.
The Research and Development team has established itself as a major player within the local marketplace. We work with companies in agribusiness, manufacturing, software, and life science industries to maximise their government R&D funding through consultation and business process planning. Working with a diverse range of clients and industry sectors will provide you with an excellent platform to build upon your technical abilities and strengthen your consulting skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of the R&D tax claims and Government grant applications for a range of clients from start-ups to multi-nationals across key industries
- Apply the law to identify and scope eligible R&D activities and expenditure for an organisation
- Advise clients around government grants and tax incentives
- Prepare project technical and expenditure workpapers in line with our quality processes
- Document and/or supervise the documentation of R&D activity in accordance with guidelines
- Tertiary qualification in STEM, Commerce, or Law (or related disciplines)
- 2-4 years’ experience in R&D, preferably in Big 4 or Mid-tier environment
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects and collaborate with the team to deliver results
- Ability to synthesize and communicate complex technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities with an interest in innovation and a growth mindset
- Self-assured individual who can confidently apply professional scepticism
- Experience with ATO and AusIndustry reviews and audits is highly regarded
