The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join us in our Infrastructure Engineering team in Brisbane on a full time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Team Lead - Controls Systems Engineering, you will play a key role providing Control Systems engineering design, technical document preparation, package engineering, construction and commissioning engineering in support of APA operations and the delivery of projects for new assets and upgrades to existing plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering design documentation for concept, front end and detailed design stages of assigned projects
- Prepare detailed engineering design documentation including calculations, SOW, specifications, datasheets, reports, drawings etc
- Ensure engineering and design documentation prepared by APA, external engineering service providers, or vendors meets project/stakeholder requirements, statutory and licence requirements, applicable APA, Australian and international standards
- Prepare and review engineering work packs for tender and purchase
- Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning and handover to operations, including time spent at remote sites
Your background
- Tertiary qualification in Control Systems Engineering or equivalent (e.g. Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics), admitting to corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia or equivalent (Required)
- Proven experience in the design, construction, operation or maintenance of gas transmission, gas processing, LNG, chemical process power generation, utilities or associated industries
- Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements, Australian and international codes and standards including AS3000, AS 61508, AS/NZS 61511
- Working knowledge of Environmental and Health and Safety legislative requirements
- Working knowledge of IEC61131-3 PLC/RTU programming languages and system
About the Team
This is a rare opportunity to join the Infrastructure Engineering Team to work on APA assets and contribute to the company’s critical role in Australia’s energy transition. The role is responsible for the design and implementation of world class engineering standards and processes. The team works on growth projects with a view to expand APA’s asset portfolio across the east coast of Australia, and varies across gas transmission, renewable power, power generation and transmission, working within a great flexible working environment.
