We are seeking enthusiastic people to fill two Senior Data Officer vacancies.
There are two vacancies available for immediate filling, one part-time (0.5 FTE) to 21 September 2025 and one full-time to 30 June 2026. Both vacancies have possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
You will contribute to increasing the information management maturity of the WA health system by supporting the metadata and data development work program, which includes the development and implementation of a metadata repository, core standards and reference data, as well as the development of new data collections to meet emerging information needs.
What are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate will have experience in the development, documentation and/or management of data in a complex environment, project management and well-developed interpersonal skills.
The Senior Data Officer positions are available in the newly formed Metadata and Data Development team. The Metadata and Data Development team has two streams: the existing metadata function, and the new data development function. The Senior Data Officers will work with both business and technical teams to support the delivery of the Metadata and Data Development work program, including providing expert advice on metadata to stakeholders across the WA health system; developing metadata infrastructure and processes; supporting the development of new real-time data collections to enable systemwide visibility of hospital capacity and demand; development and maintenance of central master data and reference lists; and support for metadata governance processes, including development and/or review of standards.
Due to the foundational nature of metadata and data development, Senior Data Officers will be exposed to a wide variety of health data and initiatives.
