The CFO Group's core objective is to advance University strategy through financial leadership and innovation, strategic sourcing and contracting. The Corporate Finance Property & Sustainability Team (CFPS) is part of the CFO Group and includes responsibility for design and implementation of the University's Estate Plan as well as the development function of the University's major strategic property initiatives, aligned with the Development Framework. The team is focused on ensuring that the University's property assets (current and future) meet the long and short-term business needs of the University, supporting the core objectives of research, teaching and learning and student experience, and industry and community engagement. The CFPS team is responsible for ensuring that the University's property, infrastructure, and financial assets/liabilities enable strategy and provide a meaningful competitive advantage.
The Role - Senior Development Manager
Within CFPS, the Development team includes a range of specialist areas that are concerned with both highly strategic issues, technical due diligence as well as operational aspects of land, property and real estate use and development. As the Senior Development Manager, you will be a key member of the Development team, supported by Development Managers and Developer Officers, and taking a leadership role in the development of major strategic programs and projects led by the CFPS team.
Reporting to the Portfolio Director, the Senior Development Manager will be the program lead for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences, responsible for the development and implementation of major strategic capital programs led by the CFPS team. You will drive identified projects and programs from inception through feasibility analysis, business case development, planning, design, procurement, delivery and into operations.
This role has a strong commercial focus and will be required to lead and support multiple internal and external stakeholders to enable collaboration and drive substantial project workstreams and complex tasks.
About You
Your highly-developed stakeholder engagement and leadership skills enable you to manage strategic relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and motivate and lead a small team. You have excellent commercial acumen and with ability to develop and operationalise strategy.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Property or a related field
- Proven experience in project management or development management to deliver complex commercial development projects.
- Commercially astute with high attention to detail
- Collaborative approach and ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
- High level of emotional intelligence with the ability to engage and influence outcomes in a complex environment.
- Health program experience will be highly regarded.
- Proven experience managing complex programs and projects from brief development and design through to business case approval and into implementation.
