The Senior Director Central Pharmacy will be accountable for all business, financial, professional and operational activities associated with all services provided by Central Pharmacy. Provide authoritative counsel and strategic advice to QH on key issues relating to statewide management of pharmaceuticals. Responsible for approximately 62 staff. The annual value of medicines and dental supplies handled by the unit is in excess of $400m.
About Supply Chain Surety:
The Supply Chain Branch, part of the Department of Health's Corporate Services Division (CSD), supports the supply of clinical goods, pharmaceuticals and linen products to Queensland's Hospital and Health Services (HHSs). The branch is comprised of functions critical to Queensland Health's supply response, including Central Pharmacy, Linen Services, Warehousing and Logistics and Operations Group. This branch brings together an end-to-end supply chain function from demand planning through to warehousing and distribution into a single integrated branch led by the Executive Director. The branch supports clients and stakeholders across the Department of Health, all HHSs, Queensland Government and some external agencies.
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrated high level ability to lead and manage both at a strategic and operational level, a large complex business unit that is focussed on providing quality pharmaceutical distribution services within a performance management and outcome driven environment.
- Demonstrated well developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills at a senior management level with a track record in fostering effective and productive relationships with clients, strategic partners and key stakeholders.
- Expert knowledge at a strategic level of contemporary pharmaceutical management issues in areas of inventory management, supply chain logistics, medication compounding, small scale manufacturing and industry best practice.
- Demonstrated high-level ability to provide leadership and expert advice on issues relating to safe and effective hospital medicines management and ability to resolve related issues State wide across Health Areas, Districts, Hospitals and Departments.
