Home Education Unit are seeking applications for two Senior Education Officers to join the team on a temporary full-time and part-time basis for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Provide information and expert technical advice on Home Education legislation, policies and procedures to parents considering registering their child for Home Education or who currently have their child registered for Home Education.
- Assess and process Home Education initial and continuing registration applications made pursuant to the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006.
- Lead and contribute to a range of activities supporting the functions of the Home Education Unit (HEU).
- Conduct internal reviews as necessary in accordance with the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006.
- Exercise delegated decision making powers in relation to Home Education pursuant to the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006.
- Support the continued improvement in provision of services and information to home educating families.
- Assist parents who are considering registering their child for Home Education or who currently have their child registered for Home Education, to understand their statutory obligations and performs functions under the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 as the Director-General's delegated decision maker in relation to Home Education.
Highly desirable skills and experience;
- Strong communicator
- Understanding or committed to understanding Home Education.
