AddressKalwun Development Corporation Ltd is an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community controlled organisation currently seeking to fill the following vacancy within our Child, Youth and Family Support Services division. The Kalwun Child, Youth and Family Support Services division administers the Family Wellbeing Service, Family Participation Program, Early Learning Program and the Kinship and Foster Care programs within the South East Qld region.
The Kalwun Early Learning Program is a free, stand-alone school readiness program based on the Early Years Learning Framework, operating across sites in Burleigh Heads, Coomera and Currumbin. At this service Educators provide a nurturing early learning environment and an engaging play-based curriculum. The Early Learning Program is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 3–5 years (pre-prep), and delivers a kindergarten program in the year before school. This is a part time role for 19.5 hours per week (8:30am - 3:30pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and is based at both Coomera and Burleigh.

The Senior Educator’s role is to assist Management in supporting a team which provides high quality Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) to children. Provide ongoing support and assistance to the Management Team and develop relationships which support families.
As a Senior Educator at this service you will be required to meet the following criteria;
- Exercise professional judgement, sound decision making and assessment skills to lead and manage processes within the ECEC/EYLF to systematically determine approvals, quality assessment and ratings, monitoring compliance and enforcement in accordance with relevant national and state legislation, with a focus on quality outcomes for children.
- Assist in managing processes for approving the operation of ECEC/EYLF service and associated monitoring, compliance and enforcement in accordance with relevant national and state legislation, with a focus on quality outcomes for children.
- Provide high level communication and interpersonal skills and advice and build and maintain networks with key internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare written reports suitable for submission to internal and external stakeholders, and identify and address emerging issues and trends relevant to assessment and quality improvement and regulatory compliance of education and care services.
- Assist in the management of the day to day operations of the team to provide high quality services outcomes and ensure the team’s capacity to meet changing organisation and client needs.
- Develop and assist in the delivery of the Early Childhood Education Program
- Support team members to plan suitable activities to meet the students learning needs.
Mandatory requirements
- Qualifications: Degree in teaching or similar qualification relevant to the role
- Hold a Queensland Blue Card
- Hold a Queensland or NSW Driver Licence.

- This position requires the successful applicant to satisfy a national criminal history check, hold a current drivers' license and hold a blue card for working with children. The 'No Card No Start' law applies to this position - a blue card must be obtained prior to commencement.
