Senior Electrical Engineer - Major Oil & Gas/Renewables project - Long-term - Perth
Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. They currently own one of the busiest project portfolios in WA, Australia across the Mining, Oil & Gas, and Energy sectors.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee the production of detailed design deliverables such as drawings, specifications, scopes of work, calculations, technical reports, datasheets, tender documentation, requisitions, estimates, budgets, and schedules for scope variation and technical queries
- Conduct and/or review system studies, arc flash hazard assessments, protection coordination, and define mitigating solutions
- Conduct tender bid evaluations and contribute and/or assist procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
- Uphold meticulous documentation standards, ensuring the technical integrity of deliverables through rigorous review and verification procedures as outlined in company protocols
- Coordinate with electrical vendors, contractors, packages, and control systems to ensure alignment with project objectives and technical standards
- Verify the technical project deliverables by others in the team (minimum Senior level)
- Collaborate with other disciplines to make sure design interfaces are clear and aligned across the design package
- Make sure project scope and delivery meet company systems’, policies, processes, procedures, and standards, and the applicable statutory & regulatory requirements
- Prepare and/or support the preparation of project documentation such as budgets, estimates, forecasts, schedules, and reports, and also participate and contribute to project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs, and safety in design workshops as needed
- Effectively communicate with all the stakeholders such as the supervisor, electrical team, and the workshare teams on design, deliverables, and technical matters
Qualifications
- Previous experience working at an EPC/M consultancy as a professional engineer in the oil and gas sector is required
- Experience throughout all stages of engineering projects from feasibility/conceptual studies to detailed design and execution is required
- Sound knowledge and proven experience in AC and DC systems with HV & LV systems
- Excellent knowledge in Brownfield and multiple package interfacing
- Good understanding of electrical calculations and equipment sizing, earthing systems & step and touch potential calculations
- Excellent knowledge in Switchgear, protection, generation and power reticulation with Equipment inspections, FATs, SATs
- A recognised Bachelor qualification in the applicable discipline is required
