Our Telecommunications Engineering team are seeking an experienced Senior Security Support Officer to join their team on a 2-year fixed term Queensland Rail employment contract. This role will manage the current Electronic Security Maintenance contract and support Telecommunications, CCTV and Security capital works plan. You will be required to provide expert advice in the area of telecommunications and security systems to deliver quality, commercially focused solutions.
This role will see you manage and co-ordinate all aspects the Electronic Security maintenance contract as sell as minor capital projects from concept, development, specification, estimation, planning, construction, testing and commissioning and post commissioning support. As Senior Security Support Officer you will be responsible for ensuring all standards and procedures are documented in accordance with Queensland Rail’s principles.
To be considered for this role you will need the following high level of skills:
Setting and documenting performance standards for telecommunications CCTV and Security systems applicable to Queensland Rail.
Managing and supervising telecommunications CCTV and Security systems projects including all aspects of contracts administration.
Meeting statutory, regulatory and policy obligations, particularly in relation to satisfy the safety, environment, contract processes and human resource requirements in a commercially focused business.
Managing external contractors.
Substantial level of skill in providing training and development in modern telecommunications CCTV and security systems for Queensland Rail technical staff.
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication, presentation and negotiation.
Economically adapting new CCTV / Security technologies applicable to the railway environment.
Candidates must hold the following current Australian issued qualifications at the time of application:
ACMA License
QLD Security License
Other requirements of the position:
Whilst this role is predominantly performed within a corporate environment in Brisbane, there will also be opportunities to travel to sites within Queensland. This role does involve a moderate amount of after-hours work and a one week in two on call roster, penalty rates are provided for the call-out roster (shared across the team) and overtime opportunities.
