About the Role
The Senior Engineer will directly support the Principal Manager Engineering City & South West in the planning and coordination of engineering, commissioning and handover activities for the Sydney Metro City and South West Project (C&SW).
The role will act as the key interface between external and internal stakeholders to support C&SW project deliverables and requirements.
Key Responsibilities include:
Coordination of engineering and asset material reviews, coordination with MTS team for acceptance into the network and engagement with delivery entities for the resolution of engineering and asset issues
Provision of engineering advice to stakeholders on the impact, risks and issues of identified changes
Ensuring the coordination of CCBs for CSW related engineering change, engagement of stakeholders to ensure development of financial impacts
Engage with MTS Engineering & Maintenance Delivery and existing MTS engineering management systems and procedures and support in the continuous improvement or development of new procedures for the end-to-end operation of the entire metro, to ensure delivery of a seamless network
Ensure the coordination of deliverables, status and reporting relating to engineering readiness in a timely manner to enable on time delivery and identification of issues and subsequent and timely resolution
Management of input from the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) planning team and external parties to ensure that engineering readiness activities are progressed in a timely manner
Coordination and engagement of MTS EMD for transfer of new assets and asset Information and acceptance by the business of all associated asset management activities, or resolution for changes required by contractors delivering the assets
Facilitate and provide operator and maintainer input into the design, build, testing and commissioning and handover phases of Project - Driving a customer focused, operable and maintainable design at lowest whole of life cost
Ensure the NW “lessons learnt” are captured within the CSW project and influence what gets designed and built.
Work with the SMNW team to ensure the operations of SMCSW are integrated with SMNW in such a way that the management systems and procedures work effectively and safely from end to end.
Contribute to the development and change to all the operational management systems and related documents that are necessary to satisfy both statutory requirements and MTS internal system requirements to ensure a safe and efficient station operation and customer services
Identify changes in scope and potential impacts on MTS and the O&M contract.
About You
You will have a high level of oral and written communications skills and confident in establishing relationships, influence, and working in partnership with stakeholders at the senior level both internal and external to the organisation.
The role requires a strong knowledge of railway operations, maintenance and construction preferably with project commissioning and handover experience. You will have relevant skills in project management and operational stakeholder requirements with the ability to interact successfully with private and public sectors in a rail engineering / operating environment.
You will have strong organisational skills and a structured approach to delivery, with the capability to identify and negate delivery hurdles, juggle priorities and be adaptable as the project needs change.
