The role
We're delivering a number of major projects and require a Senior Civil Design Engineer. Collaborate with our talented Drainage Team on exciting current and future transportation projects to deliver roads & rail projects in South East Queensland and Nationally. This is a permanent opportunity based out of SMEC’s Gold Coast office.
With approximately 6+ years’ experience in civil design, play a key role:
Providing advice and demonstrating strong technical skills producing engineering design for projects and design packages
Production of engineering reports and supporting tender proposals
Ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
Proactively collaborating with team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables
Actively contribute to the technical success of projects and the team
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil)
Excellent civil design knowledge with experience of working on major infrastructure projects
Knowledge and experience in the use of relevant software packages (TUFLW, 12D, CIRCLY, AutoCAD, etc)
Able to work on their own initiative and in a team environment
Able to undertake some travel (domestic or international)
