The ACEREZ consortium, which includes the ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), has been appointed Preferred Proponent to design and construct the transmission line infrastructure for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ), as part of Australia’s energy transition, outlined in the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.
The new transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state’s newly legislated Net Zero targets.

Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Senior Engineer to share their expertise within our growing Earthworks team. You will play a vital role by providing expert technical design, implementing environmental engineering operations, and managing all project design aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee environmental engineering design projects, ensuring compliance with legislative and company standards.
- Coordinate design activities, review processes, and provide recommendations to achieve quality and profit goals.
- Review technical designs, provide expert input, and recommend improvements to meet standards, timelines, and budgets.
- Develop and implement advanced design processes for products, materials, and systems, maintaining professional discipline.
- Monitor costs and utilisation targets, identify issues, and provide expert input and/or recommendations to ensure effective cost management.
- Contribute to developing and maintaining company design standards, ensuring quality and compatibility with project management systems.
- Stay updated on industry trends and legislative requirements, recommending policy changes to ensure best practices and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Preferable 10 years’ experience in a construction/engineering environment with significant exposure to design, costing, estimating and planning.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or architectural/technical design with extensive experience.
- Experience in bulk earthworks, civil, and roads design, including material testing and pavement/seal design.
- Expert knowledge of construction industry standards, HS&E requirements, and environmental/design engineering regulations.
- Proficient in using technical design tools, including CAD software.
Currently, this position is located in our project office in Sydney CBD, with occasional site visits. However, once the project is fully operational, it will transition to a roster-based arrangement.
