Form of workWe are an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia.
Located in the Eastern Wheatbelt region of WA, Southern Cross Operations is the flagship operation for the company and holds a tenement package of approximately 1,400km2 with significant exploration potential. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, one active underground mine, two active open pits and new mine opportunities on the horizon.This will be a full time role on an 8/6 roster, BIBO from Perth or DIDO to Marvel Loch option available.
About the role:
Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, you will support and assist the Environmental team with respect to all environmental, sustainability and compliance matters at the Southern Cross Operations.
Your key duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to;
- Environmental inspections and audits
- Conduct environmental monitoring (water, rehabilitation, photo etc) and maintain, analyse, and interpret the data to identify trends and address any concerns.
- Assist the environmental team with compliance reporting and the preparation of approval documents for regulatory bodies.
- Assist with data management and documentation.
- Promote the proactive reporting of environmental hazards, assist with incident investigations, and follow up corrective actions with site management.
- Participate in community events and liaise with community members and stakeholders where required.
About You:
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent.
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
- Minimum two (3) years relevant experience in the mining / resources industry.
- Knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
- Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and auditing processes.
- Good understanding of environmental risks and impacts associated with mining and mineral processing operations.
- Self-motivated, well organized, and able to manage personal workloads to achieve agreed outcomes
- Ability to work under pressure.
