Senior Event Manager permanent role for an Association based in Sydney on a salary of $90k - $100k plus super.

The Company:
This excellent National Association has been supporting their members for over 75 years! They are committed to furthering education, representing their members, and continuously improving their industry for the benefit of all. This association is looking for an experienced Senior Event Manager to join their team in their Sydney office.
The Role:
The Senior Event Manager role reports to the Head of Events, and will have 3 direct reports. The Senior Event Manager will be responsible for the project management, oversight, and development of a range of first-class events for members. This role will be responsible for the operational and day-to-day management of various products and events.

Key Responsibilities include;
  • In conjunction with the Head of Events and other Event Managers, develop and deliver new and existing content across multiple delivery channels including in person, virtual and hybrid events.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and cross functional teams to deliver compelling content that drives engagement, satisfaction and commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure all programs / products and respective delivery channels appeal to the right target audience.
  • Be mindful of diversity and inclusion in the compilation of volunteer working groups and ensure appropriate gender and cultural balance wherever possible on panels, products and event programs.
  • Observe sustainability event best practices to reduce the environmental impact of all face-to-face events.
  • Responsibility for the design, development, and management of various event products and projects within the Engagement team and the business as required.
  • Proactively manage simultaneous project milestones and timelines.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure the successful development and delivery of the event product suite.
  • Manage technology, hospitality, travel, and audio-visual suppliers and provide detailed content, logistical and event production briefs to ensure the smooth delivery and cost-efficient execution of events, content and products.
  • Ongoing management of commercial objectives and financial targets for event products including the day-to-day maintenance of profit and loss reports and monitoring of events registration and sales.
  • Ensure adequate resources and suppliers are allocated and engaged for events.
  • Ensure all elements of sponsor fulfilment and activations are executed in line with contracts.
  • Ensure all Engagement products are delivered in line with revenue targets and budgetary costs.
  • Lead, mentor and coach team members to achieve business objectives, financial targets, and professional goals.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have experience working as an Event Manager within an association or institute, and will have proven experience in successfully taking content to market across a range of delivery formats and platforms. Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels is required.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and delivering large scale face to face and virtual or hybrid nation-wide events, end to end.
  • Expertise in managing complex events and content production schedules.
  • Adaptable, collaborative and flexible leadership style.
  • Reliable and ability to work autonomously and prioritise your own and your team’s workload and adapt accordingly.
  • Copywriting, proofreading and editing skills.
  • High attention to detail with style and design consciousness and an appreciation of brand management practices.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and an ability to remain calm under pressure and to make informed and effective decisions, often in real-time.
  • Proficiency in Office 365, Adobe creative suite and project management platforms such as Trello.
  • Willingness to travel, work flexibly and outside of normal business hours as and when required.
  • Comfortable taking charge and giving direction to senior internal/external stakeholders if technical/logistical challenges arise during live events.
