ABOUT THE ROLE The Senior Events Executive is responsible for the successful delivery of a number of the AFL's Major Events consisting of awards nights, corporate hospitality, public events and match day events. The Senior Events Executive will be responsible for providing leadership to an Events Executive and Events Coordinator in managing various events within their respective portfolios. This dynamic role requires strong leadership, event management skills, and a proactive approach to contribute to the success of the AFL's major events. The AFL Major Events Calendar includes events such as Toyota AFL Premiership Season Launch, Anzac Day, Dreamtime at the ‘G, Australian Football Hall of Fame, AFL All Australian, Charles Brownlow Medal, Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade and Live Site, Footy Festival, Toyota AFL Grand Final events and AFL Draft. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Key Accountabilities: Oversee content to be used on the AFL website and social media platforms. Creation of full event budget which complies with allocated amount, and management of budget. With the support of the AFL IT Department, identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the Event Management Software to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved. Produce event debrief report demonstrating the successes, areas for improvement and guest feedback. Day to day management and support of Match Day Coordinator Identify and book venue and catering. Manage event budgets and ensure effective resource allocation. Create event and organisation efficiencies with systems, processes and procedures. Creation of full event budget which complies with allocated amount, and management of budget. Contribute to the development of the creative aspects of the Major Events Program. Run sheet and production schedule creation and management for events. Schedule and manage all event staff including Event Hosts and Stage Managers With the support of the AFL IT Department, identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the Event Management Software to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved. OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER Core Competencies: Demonstrated experience in the events industry. Demonstrated experience in running end to end events and production. Knowledge of event venues and production requirements. Ability to efficiently establish an appropriate course of action to accomplish a goal. Ability to manage and coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously and within set timeframes. Ability to be creative and innovative to ensure events are always the benchmark.
