About the role
We are currently seeking motivated and bubbly Events Executive to join our vibrant Sales and Marketing team. This position offers you the opportunity to work in an exceptional team environment that fosters training, development and career progression. You will be responsible for maximising hotel revenue including Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition (MICE), accommodation and restaurant segments.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Issue proposals, prepare event orders and coordinate special events and conference
- Liaison with other departments regarding event and conference requirements
- Communicate with clients and conduct post event follow-up and invoicing
- Assist in maximising opportunities to sell events and attract new business
- Conduct site inspections and entertainment for any clients with positive MICE potential for the Hotel
- Manage the wedding market segment including strategies to source new weddings, and coordinating weddings from the initial enquiry to the wedding date
- Source new and repeat business and effectively build relationships with existing and prospective clients to maximise revenue and sales activities
Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in the role you will have the following:
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to easily build rapport with internal and external clients;
- A ‘quick thinker’ with excellent problem-solving skills;
- Great team player, who proactively looks to assist where possible;
- Organised with a high attention to detail and the ability to coordinate a number of events simultaneously;
- Previous experience in sales environment, with good understanding of events/hospitality operations;
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
