This opportunity
This role will report into the GM - Financial Control & Operations and will be focussed on the management of all things related to the group cash flow forecasting. This includes taking ownership of the end to end process around cash flow forecasting across the various areas of the P&L and capex spend.
Responsibilities
- Working through key drivers such as capitalized commissions, capitalized overheads and EBITDA forecasts. This would include leveraging off the various initiatives being managed by the FP&A team across the various business divisions.
- Developing a reporting and forecasting model that can dynamically produce, each month, a reconciliation of EBITDA to various operating cash flow and free cash flow metrics.
- Develop a comprehensive and consistent view of working capital movements across the group, to ensure working capital can be assessed at least monthly and that key drivers and mitigants are understood by business owners.
- Support analysis of optimal working capital financing initiatives, including (but not limited to) bill of exchange utilisiation and handset receivables financing activities.
- Work closely with the Treasury team to ensure cash flow forecasting supports accurate liquidity forecasting/reporting and that drawdowns of revolving debt facilities are undertaken on an efficient basis.
- Work closely with the FP&A team, relevant finance business partners and capex program management/capex governance teams to ensure changes to capital expenditure forecasts are updated to cash flow forecasts in a timely fashion.
- Work with the offshore team to build a view on prepayments across the various areas of the business to work out a rolling forecast of cash outlays and identify areas of working capital improvements.
- Leverage off the S&OP process to understand expected demand forecasts of customer inventory and work with the business owners to help optimize inventory holding levels to achieve cash flow objectives for the year.
- Building a detailed lease forecast model across the various network and corporate portfolios to estimate short to medium term cash outlays including impact assessment of interest rate changes.
- Build sensitivity models around various key areas of cash flow forecasts and present to the FLT to enable decision making around long range plans.
- Working with the FP&A team, ensure that cash flow forecasts are integrated and synchronized as part of the monthly performance reporting, quarterly business review and annual budget and long-range plan process.
- Always be on the lookout to improve the way we work, and speak up with suggestions for a better way, with the aim of setting the benchmark for the quality of information that is made available to Senior Finance leaders to be able to manage cash flow targets more effectively.
- Internationally recognised accounting qualification.
- Telecommunications industry experience preferred.
- Prior experience in an ASX listed company preferred.
- Ability to work independently to achieve results yet still able to maintain communication.
- Ability to provide practical solutions to complex business problems.
- Ability to work with whole of business and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to influence change.
- Flexible, adaptable and prepared to learn.
- Advanced Excel skills, proficient at using Word and PowerPoint.
- Advanced working knowledge of policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting area of responsibility.
