We are looking for a permanent, full-time Senior Financial Accountant to join TOGA's Group Finance team at our Ultimo Head Office. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, and with two direct reports, the key aspects of this role include:
Key aspects of this role include:
- Prepare detailed financial analysis for TOGA's Executive team explaining significant movements and break-down of balances of the year-end financial results.
- Working closely with TOGA's Tax team, prepare year-end tax calculations on an entity and consolidated level, complete the review and post adjusting journal entries.
- Prepare tax reconciliation and deferred reconciliation with explanations for movements.
- Provide technical accounting advice in relation to non-recurring transactions such as asset sales, providing guidance on how transactions should be treated.
- Prepare accounting memorandums to be reviewed by TOGA's Executive team, supporting the Group accounting position.
- Prepare accounting policies, where there are none, and review existing policies to ensure compliance and best practice according to changes in market, industry and regulatory conditions.
- Review month-end and year-end reconciliation prepared by the offshore service team and identify any inaccuracies. Investigate and resolve where required.
- Develop and mentor direct reports to support them to achieve their performance goals.
Skills and experience we need from you:
- Significant proven ability to produce statutory financial reports and taxation returns for organisations of comparable complexity whilst meeting their performance KPI’s.
- Highly developed technical skills with working understanding of Australian accounting standards, taxation, and corporate reporting, preferably in the property sectors.
- Professionally qualified (CA) accountant with Australian certification.
- Previous experience within a Big 4 Chartered Firm or 2nd Tier Firm at manager/supervisory level and / or commercial experience at senior or supervisory level.
- Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
